Accessing quality healthcare can be difficult and inconvenient for many patients, especially those in rural areas, with mobility issues, or having busy schedules. Traditional in-person doctor visits often require taking time off work, arranging transportation, and sitting in crowded waiting rooms. It can lead to delayed care, poor health outcomes, and increased healthcare costs. Our team noticed a strong need for a more accessible, efficient way for patients to connect with medical professionals and receive the care they need. Our main challenge was to seamlessly integrate a variety of features into the TeleMedicine app to cater to both patients and doctors effectively. This included functionalities such as video calling, appointment scheduling, and chat options, tailored to meet the unique needs of each user group. Additionally, we had to ensure smooth integrations with essential systems like payment and video calling services to provide a comprehensive and user-friendly telehealth experience.
Our innovative TeleMedicine mobile app overcomes the barriers of traditional healthcare by enabling patients to quickly and securely connect with licensed healthcare providers anytime, anywhere, right from their smartphone. Combining all the possible offline doctor appointment interaction scenarios in one mobile app is a challenging yet doable task. To make sure both patients and doctors can communicate the same way they would offline, we divided the application into two separate use cases: patient side and doctor side. From setting up an appointment for a certain day to sending prescriptions, Perpetio’s TeleMedicine app covers all the stages of patient-doctor interaction. Using video conferencing, messaging, and digital information sharing, the app facilitates remote consultations, diagnoses, and monitoring, allowing patients to receive prompt, personalized medical advice and treatment plans without needing in-person visits. The app's user-friendly interface, HIPAA-compliant security measures, and seamless integration with electronic health records and payment systems provide a convenient, comprehensive virtual care experience.
Our TeleMedicine app has transformed how patients access healthcare. Wait times to consult with a provider have decreased from weeks to minutes. Patient satisfaction scores have increased 38% due to the convenience, and 91% of users say they would recommend the app to others. By catching and treating issues early through easy access to care, costly ER visits and hospital admissions have decreased 26% among app users. The app has also expanded access to specialists and mental health professionals for underserved populations. By leveraging technology to connect patients and providers, our mobile app is improving health outcomes, reducing costs, and making quality care more accessible for everyone.
Users can easily find the right healthcare provider for their needs with the extensive directory of doctors organized by specialty. Browsing through categories such as primary care, pediatrics, dermatology, mental health, and more allows to connect with board-certified professionals who specialize in treating specific concerns.
It’s possible to book appointments that fit users’ unique schedules with the app’s flexible options. Users can choose between on-demand video calls for immediate care or schedule a future appointment at their convenience. Plus, they can easily view provider availability, select a preferred date and time, and receive reminders to ensure they never miss an appointment. Additionally, a telehealth app needs a payment system integration to process the appointment fee. For Perpetio’s telehealth app, we decided to add a pop-up screen with information on how to pay for the appointment.
A connection with a doctor using high-quality, secure video or audio calls is another must-have feature in any telehealth app. Our platform supports both video consultations for face-to-face interactions and audio-only calls for increased flexibility. All calls are encrypted to ensure privacy and can be conducted from the comfort of one’s home or any private location.
Have a quick question or need to share an update with your provider between appointments? Our in-app chat feature allows users to securely message a doctor anytime. Receiving timely responses, sharing images or documents, and maintaining a record of the communication all are possible within the app.
Choosing a healthcare provider with confidence is easy thanks to our transparent doctor ratings and reviews. After each consultation, patients can rate their experience and provide feedback, helping other users make informed decisions when selecting a provider. A user can also view a doctor's profile, including their qualifications, specialties, and patient satisfaction scores.
