Your body runs on a natural internal clock — but seasons, screens, and stress can throw it completely off balance. Lucimed came up with a solution: a light therapy device. After four years of research at the University of Liege (Belgium), the company came up with a new light therapy device that can be used on the go. Perpetio’s role was to create an equally convenient and effective Bluetooth-connected mobile app to go with the device.
With the third generation of Luminette hitting the market, the team had a new mission: make light therapy effortless for everyone. The device needed to connect to a mobile app that wasn’t just functional, but intuitive even for those using such apps first time. The goal was for users to be able to set up, control, and personalize their sessions in just a few taps.
Time for Perpetio’s IoT mobile app development expertise to step in. Apart from creating a simple-to-use, clear user interface, the task ahead of us was connecting the app to the light therapy device. It means syncing the data up, ensuring stable Bluetooth connectivity, and verifying that the device responds instantly to any changes set in the app.
For development, we built native iOS and Android apps using Swift and Kotlin to guarantee smooth performance on both mobile platforms. The app supports multiple device data synchronization, so users can track therapy session history, create custom programs, and export device data in practical formats.
The Luminette app is a smart, connected solution running natively on both iOS and Android. Users can easily onboard and start controlling their light therapy devices within minutes. The intuitive interface guides users through the features, making it simple to sync multiple devices, review session history, and set up custom therapy programs.
With the app, users can track device usage via charts, export data in practical formats, and receive notifications and reminders to maintain consistent light therapy routines.
The achievements' system encourages engagement, while support for multiple localizations ensures accessibility for a global audience.
Thanks to stable Bluetooth connectivity and seamless IoT device integration, the app delivers an instant, reliable response to user commands. Users now have a fully connected light therapy experience, with complete control over their sessions, progress tracking, and personalized programs.
