The problem: making healthy eating more social and accessible

Eating healthy or following a certain diet can feel like a solitary numbers game, while professional nutrition advice can be expensive or difficult to access. Mealshare set out to bring food sharing, personal health goals, and expert guidance together in one app.

  • Let users share meals and interact through ratings, likes, and comments
  • Personalize the experience around dietary restrictions and individual goals
  • Give users control over whether their profiles and food journeys are public or private
  • Combine community feedback with professional meal evaluations
  • Make expert nutrition advice accessible through affordable, individual meal assessments
  • Support direct consultations and questions for nutrition professionals

The solution: a social platform for food and nutrition

  • Personalized profiles and dietary preferences

Users can add personal information, write a bio, and select up to three dietary preferences or restrictions, such as vegan, soy-free, organic, or halal. They can also set goals, including weight loss, better health, and mental clarity. Public and private profile settings let users decide how much of their food journey they want to share.

  • Social meal sharing

Users post meals in a familiar, Instagram-style feed. Other members can browse food posts, leave comments, and react with likes, making meal tracking a more social and engaging experience.

  • Community meal ratings

Users rate shared meals on a scale of 1 to 10, from very unhealthy to extremely healthy. Likes and comments encourage discussion and let members exchange opinions and food inspiration.

  • Professional meal evaluations

Registered dietitians and nutritionists can provide paid ratings of individual meals. Users get access to professional feedback without having to pay for a full consultation, creating a more accessible entry point to expert guidance.

  • Nutrition consultations

Users can connect with registered professionals for more personalized support through face-to-face or video-call consultations. They can choose the level of guidance that suits their needs, from a single meal evaluation to a more in-depth conversation.

  • Community Q&A and professional registration

Users can ask one another questions, share experiences, and exchange ideas about food and healthy habits. Dietitians and nutritionists can register on the platform to offer meal evaluations and consultations, connecting their expertise with users looking for dietary guidance.
